This Youth Museum and Cultural Heritage Center provides a place for children and families to experience the various cultures that made up our community. This is State of Florida's First Cultural Heritage Center. Its design and programs are modeled after the Smithsonian Institute Youth Programs and Folklife Festival. It is a place to learn and teach, celebrate and embrace all the cultures that make up our region. The Cultural Heritage Center celebrates our region’s pioneer and indigenous beginnings and the diverse community that we have become. Cultural affinity groups from Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Desoto, Sarasota, and Manatee counties, as members, come to together to celebrate our combined cultural contributions to the development and economy of this region. The Youth Museum & Cultural Heritage Center will be open in Fall 2021.
